  statement
“Above all else, it is about leaving a mark that I existed; I was here. I was hungry. I was defeated. I was sad. I was in love. I was afraid. I was hopeful. I had an idea and I had a good purpose and that’s why I made works of art.”
-Felix Gonzalez-Torres

My work investigates a space of thought that is based on emotion driven rationalization, a system of thought that I’ve created using my life and my work to formulate a structure. By way of performance art, I’ve realized a place in my artistic work ethic that houses a need for process, systems and the blurring of art and life. Process, systems and organizational skills play a major role in my life and in my work. I am in constant search of a structure to inform my projects and frame of mind. I research any given interest I have, at times feeling lost, and I embrace the notion of fate to encourage a result. Although, I don’t not believe in fate itself, I believe in the idea of fate.
In my performances and projects I use my body and mind my as the main focus of proving a common goal or thought. For example, thinking on a scientific level, all of my performances have had the same structural formula. Create point "A", recognize that point "C" exists by way of proving point "B" use whatever means necessary; time is irrelevant. Create time by organizing space, but only visually. I create a concept/hypothesis, do research, then think of a means in which to prove this theory and through my performance or performative actions I execute a “task” or a series of tasks. The out come of the performance, or ‘end product’ if you will, is the answer or space of being that the emotion lives.
